Obituary of Maureen B. Clarke

Ipswich – Maureen B. Clarke 72, formerly of Peabody, beloved wife of the late George W. Clarke, died Thursday, September 19, 2019 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.

Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of Helen L. (Donlon) McInnis of Peabody and the late Maurice McInnis.

Mrs. Clarke had been employed for many years by the City of Peabody in the City Clerk’s office, until the time of her retirement.

Maureen had resided in Peabody for most of her life prior to moving to Ipswich at the time of her retirement. She was an avid QVC enthusiast who loved any excuse to surprise her beloved friends and family with gifts. 

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her brother, Paul K. McInnis and his wife, Carol of Peabody, two grandchildren, Alexandra Coleman and her husband, David of Brighton and Stephen Marley of Tempe, AZ, her beloved cat, “Bridget” and several nieces, nephews, step-children and extended family. She was also the sister of the late Mark C. McInnis.

Her funeral service will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody, Monday, September 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial in the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
