Obituary of Carmen M Wallace
Peabody – Carmen M. (Cruz) Wallace 71, died Sunday, January 19, 2020 at the Beverly Hospital.
Born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Juan R. and Carlina (Luna) Cruz. She was raised and educated in Bridgeport, CT prior to moving to the North Shore in the early 1970’s.
One of the first “Certified Nursing Assistants” in New England, Carmen worked for many years at Salem Hospital and at the time of her retirement she had been employed at Kindred Health Care Center in Peabody.
A resident of Salem for many years before moving to Peabody, Carmen enjoyed swimming and dancing and was always quick to laugh and smile. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving her are two daughters, Carmen Maria Cruz Hunt and Freedom C. Cruz-Collins, a son, Raymond A. Cruz and his wife, Laurie, eight grandchildren, Christina Carrion and her fiancé Jhan Bisono, Christian Philip Hunt, Jamyel D. Collins Jr., Justice D. Collins, Jasmin D. Collins, Jocelle C. Cruz, Joseph R. Cruz and Anthony R. Cruz, four great grandchildren, Jalissa Bisono, Jayleeya Bisono, Juliana Bisono and Justice D. Collins II, two sisters, Blanca Medina and Yolanda Ortega Robles and a brother, William Cruz.
Visiting hours will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody on Thursday, January 23, 2020 from 3 to 5:30 p.m. followed by a service at the funeral home at 5:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
