Obituary of William H. "Bill" Dash

William H. “Bill” Dash, 91, of Danvers, died Monday evening at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Jeannette A. (Neistorowich) Dash with whom he shared over 64 years of marriage Born in Salem on July 29, 1928, he was the son of the late William and Elizabeth (MacMillan) Dash. He was a graduate of Salem High School and attended the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He had resided in Salem for many years before moving to Danvers in 1958. A union carpenter by trade, he worked on local schools, churches and the Salem Power Plant. He also served as Past Financial Secretary of the Carpenter’s Union, Local #888. He was a Scout Master for Troop 2 & Troop 4 in Salem and was the former President of the Clover Investment Club at the Danvers Senior Center, where he was a longtime member. He enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, nature, traveling and especially loved spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Ken Koffman of Boca Raton, FL; his son and daughter-in-law, David and Bonnie Dash of Moretown, VT, his sister, Elaine Reardon and her husband, Charlie of Salem; his beloved six grandchildren, Valerie Haggans and her husband Matt, Laura DiStefano and her husband Willy, Brian Koffman and his wife Sarah, Katelyn Wadland and her husband Rich, and Kristyn and Kyle Dash; two great-grandchildren, Hadley and Claire Haggans and is survived by several special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his three brothers, Wally, Arlie and Doug Dash and two sisters, Corrine Stewart and Faith Arling. His funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4 -7 p.m. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Danvers Senior Center, 25 Stone St. or Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
