Obituary of Helen V. Tanguay

Danvers, formerly of Peabody – Helen V. (Bourgoin) Tanguay 87, beloved wife of the late Leo A. Tanguay, died Monday, April 20, 2020 at the Beverly Hospital. Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Helen (Pref) Bourgoin. She received her education in the Salem school system and graduated from Salem High School. Mrs. Tanguay had been employed for over thirty years as a certified nursing assistant at the Pilgrim Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Peabody until the time of her retirement. A longtime resident of Peabody before moving to Danvers, Helen enjoyed collecting caroler dolls as well as decorating doll houses that her husband hand built. She was also an avid fan of John Wayne and spent hours watching him on TV. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by all who knew her. Surviving her are two daughters, Pamela Miller and her husband, Dennis of Merrimac and Gail Goodwin and her husband, Brian of Salem, two sons, Mark Tanguay and his loving companion, Kathy Connelly of Peabody and Paul Tanguay and his wife, Linda of Townsend, eight grandchildren, Jonathan, Jennifer, Blake, Dane, Julia, Emily, Lindsay and Jamie and one sister, Barbara Doyle and her husband, Arthur of Peabody. Her funeral services will be private. Arrangements by the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to the Brightview Assisted Living, 50 Endicott St, Danvers, MA 01923.
