I am utterly shocked by the news of Chris’s passing and so deeply sorry for your loss. I was lucky enough to have worked with Chris since June of 2019, after he hired me to work at National Grid. Even though I did not know Chris for a full year, I got to know what a great person he was, and I genuinely enjoyed working with him. Chris left a lasting, positive impression on everyone he worked with. He had a great sense of humor and great love for his family. He will truly be missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Delillo family. I have wonderful memories of visiting with Dale, Dean, Brooks, Brian and Chris at family gatherings when we were young and although less frequent, as we became adults. I know Chris will be missed by all. My sincere sympathies.

I was a relatively new colleague of Chris at National Grid but when I started my new role he jumped in straightaway to help get me up to speed. Always helpful and responsive he was someone I looked forward to interacting with. From what I've read about Chris outside of work it seems that was how he lived his life - a friend and helping hand to others. He will be missed by many. I'm very sorry for your loss.

I was sitting next to Chris at a meeting last summer when the presenter ended the sentence by saying: "The Promised Land". At the same time, both Chris and I said, sounds like a Bruce Springsteen song. At the next break we started talking about our joint passion of Bruce Springsteen; he showed me a picture on his phone from a Bruce show; I showed him the video on my phone from standing outside the Broadway theater where Springsteen on Broadway was performed and seeing Bruce come out the stage door. After that, we kept sharing Bruce stories, lyrics from songs and both our excitement when both Blinded By the Light and Western Stars, two movies with plenty of Bruce music was released last year.
We were looking for other Bruce fans to share our passion with.
I will miss those times just chatting with him.
And before I forget, as a fellow colleague, he was extremely supportive and really wanted to help.
He will absolutely be missed (but NOT forgotten).
And as we ended some of our conversations: "Tramps Like Us, Baby We Were Born To Run" !

Chris was my mentor at National Grid, he gave me a shot and hired me on his team believing in me. He went out of his way to be sure that I was in a position to succeed and taught me what it meant to have pride and passion in all you do. If you're going to do something don't half ass it. He was a great manager, a coworker, and a friend. Always having great stories to tell, a sense of humor, and truly showed that he cared. When it came to family Chris always talked about his wife Leanne and kids Patrick and Jackie and how proud he was of them and told stories of the damn horses, and Pat's basketball team. He was always there to help bounce ideas off of, listen to, consult, and give advice. I was looking forward to the ending of this pandemic to finally go out for drinks and steaks as I was transitiong from my current role into a new position he was no longer my manager but my colleague and friend. It sucks that I am losing my friend and mentor far too soon, I pray for his family and friends. We are losing one helluva guy and we were all blessed to have known Chris.
