Obituary of Edward J. Szmyd

Edward J Szmyd, 56 of Peabody, died peacefully Tuesday evening at Salem Hospital surrounded by his family after a sudden illness. Ed worked at Shetland Park in Salem for many years, and his work was very important to him. He enjoyed music, NASCAR, and taking long drives up the coast of the North Shore. He loved to grill-out with his family and spend time with them. He is survived by his two brothers, Richard and his spouse Catherine and Robert and his spouse Tara. He loved his brother’s children, Nicholas, Mage, Isabella, and Rose like they were his own and is also survived by his cousin Diane who was like a sister to him. Following cremation, a private burial and celebration of life will be held later this year.
