Obituary of Barbara E. Tattan

Barbara E. Tattan of West Peabody, beloved wife of the late James F. Tattan Jr., passed away Friday, October 9, 2020 at Benchmark at Leominster Crossing in Leominster, Ma. Born and raised in Haverhill, Barbara was the daughter of the late Jacob and Ella (Kelleher) Weinberger. She graduated from Haverhill High School and continued onto Larson College in Connecticut earning a Degree in Secretarial Science. Barbara spent most of her career working at the Prudential Building in Boston. Barbara is survived by two daughters, Bradlee Tattan of Beverly and Susan white and husband David of Bolton, James F. Tattan III and his wife, Colleen of Beverly Farms and Craig Tattan and his wife Brenda of Beverly. In addition, there are six grandchildren Shane, Bryn, Trevor, CJ, Taylor Tanner, as well as her dear cousin, Ronnie Glickman of Manhattan. Barbara was very devoted to her beloved parish St. Adelaide’s, serving as a Eucharistic minister for thirty-five years. She also served as member and President of the West Peabody Garden club for several years. In 1950, Barbara earned the title of “Mrs. Massachusetts” and went onto finish as runner up as “Mrs. America.” Her friends and family remember her amazing culinary skills and fashion sense. Barbara was beloved by everyone. She had a kind and loving heart that touched the lives of many and was affectionately Referred to as “Dearest.” She will be forever missed. Her Funeral services were private.
