Obituary of Marco E Giunta

Marco Edward Giunta, 89, of Peabody, died Sunday afternoon at the Brudnick Center for Living in Peabody, following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband if Antonetta “Annette” (Palermo) Giunta with whom he shard over 65 years of marriage. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Filippo and Ida (Polito) Giunta. He was raised and educated in East Boston and has lived in Peabody for the past 18 years. Marco was a veteran of the Korean War who served with the United States Air Force for four years before his honorable discharge in the spring of 1955 Following the war, Marco began his working career in the automotive industry, he worked for various car dealerships in Revere and later opened his own dealership, Marco’s Car Barn in Revere until his retirement years ago. Upon his retirement, he continued working for Century Bank at the Operations Center in Medford as a maintenance man before finally retiring years ago. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Doreen and Joseph Sodi and Donna and Paul Simonini, all of Peabody, his beloved two grandchildren, Michael and his wife Katie Ricci of West Newbury and Jennifer and her husband Eric Rygiel of Georgetown, and by his two great grandchildren, Scottie Rae Rygiel and William Parker Ricci. He was predeceased by his siblings Philip Giunta and Jennie O’Neil. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:30 until 10:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Adelaide’s Church, Lowell St, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial Services will be held privately. All attendees are required to wear facial coverings and maintain social distancing as well.
