Obituary of Joel William Tyack

Peabody – Joel William Tyack 39, beloved husband of Kelly C. (Mahoney) Tyack, died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 5, 2020. Born in Danvers, he was the son of Alison Standley and her husband David of Wenham and William Tyack and his wife, Roberta of Hamilton. He received his education in the Hamilton-Wenham school system and graduated from Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School. Joel had been employed as a heavy equipment mechanic, having worked for many years throughout the North Shore. As a young boy, Joel developed a love for cars and trucks that continued through adulthood. He enjoyed working on his cars and motorcycle in his spare time. Joel was quick to lend a hand to family and friends utilizing the knowledge and expertise he accumulated throughout his life. He was loyal, dependable, and talented in many ways. Most of all, Joel cherished the time he spent with his wife and son, whether it was boating, fishing, or vacationing with family on Frye Island. He will be remembered for his quick wit, infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his wife, with whom he shared the past seventeen years with and his parents, he is survived by his son, John William “Jack” Tyack, two sisters, Alissa Julien and her husband, Dean of Beverly and Devan Tyack of New Hampshire, a brother, Shane Tyack and his wife, Madelyn of Maine and several aunts, uncles, step siblings, and cousins. ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 1 Margin St., Peabody, Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Conway Cahill Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial will be private. All attendees are required to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines. In lieu of flowers, expression of sympathy may be made in his memory to Citizens Inn, Haven From Hunger, 71 Wallis St., Peabody, MA 01960 to help those in need.
