Obituary of Domingo Marquez

Domingo Marquez, 76, of Lynn, died Saturday December 26, 2020 at the Salem Hospital following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Marcelina (Padilla) Marquez with whom he shared over 47 years of marriage. Born in Nayarit, Mexico, he was the son of the late Emilio and Irene (Bueno) Martinez. He was raised and educated in Mexico before he immigrated to the United States and has been a resident of Lynn for the past 36 years. Domingo was a police officer in Mexico and was a professional wrestler as well while in his prime. While living in Lynn, he became a home health aide at the Whidden Memorial Hospital in Everett for over 20 years before he finally retired. Besides his loving wife Marcelina, he is survived by his two sons, Jesus Marquez of Swampscott and Luis Marquez of Peabody, his four daughters, Maria Alvarado of Swampscott, Laura Sanchez of Lynn, Silvia Jordan of Amesbury and Celia Clemens of Haverhill, his sister, Celia Martinez of Mexico and by his beloved 17 grandchildren, ages 4 – 20. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 3:00 until 6:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody and his Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. All attendees are required to wear facial coverings and maintain social distancing as well. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
