Obituary of Berta Santos Capela-Pinto

Peabody- Berta Santos Capela-Pinto, 81, beloved wife of the late Fabio Pinto, died peacefully on Friday, February 26, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Born in Vila Real, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Gloria Dos Santos Capela and Jaime Capela. Berta had lived in Peabody for 49 years. Berta dedicated most of her time to raising her family. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. She was always happy and will be remembered for her big smile. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter, Maria Pinto and her companion, Noel Vasa; her two sons, Edward Pinto and his companion, Charlet Cyr, and Acacio Pinto and his companion Ligia Silva; her granddaughter, Hailey Pinto; her brother, Henrigue Capela; her sister, Maria Rosa Capela Pinto; her nephews, Tina, Frank, Alberto, and Jaime Pinto, Milton, Tony, and Carlos Capela, the late Lou Sabino and his wife, Sue, and Jimmy Sabino; her nieces, Lucy Poulin and Minda Dagas. Berta was predeceased by her two brothers, Duarte Capela and Albano Capela: and her sister Maria Capela Fazendeiro. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 2, from 10:00 - 11:15 A.M. at Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Followed by her funeral mass 12 P.M. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 1 Margin St., Peabody. All attendees are required to wear masks and adhere to the social distancing guidelines. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
