Obituary of Albert W Larrabee

Peabody – Albert W. Larrabee, 85, beloved husband of Beverly A. (Newton) Larrabee, died Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at the Lahey Medical Center in Peabody. Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Daniel R. and Beatrice E. (LeMay) Larrabee. He was raised in Salem and received his education in the Salem school system. Mr. Larrabee had been employed for thirty-two years as a firefighter for the City of Peabody until the time of his retirement in 1996. Albert was very proud to serve the City as a third-generation firefighter, with his uncle and grandfather preceding him. A resident of Peabody for the past seventy years, he was an avid golfer who enjoyed working at the Rowley Country Club. He was also an avid fisherman and poker player. Albert was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his wife with whom he shared sixty years of marriage, he is survived by his son, Jeff Larrabee and his wife, Becky of Peabody; his daughter Jill Larrabee and her fiancée, Anthony Maggio of Winthrop; two grandchildren, Brianna Larrabee of Milan, Italy and Joshua Larrabee of Lowell; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Helen Civitarese, Blanche Fontaine and Donald Larrabee. His funeral service will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Monday, March 9, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Burial in the Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
