Obituary of Frances M. (Santos) Pramas

Frances M. (Santos) Pramas, 84, of Peabody, wife of the late Angelus T. Pramas died Wednesday May 30, 2007 at the Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester. Mrs. Pramas was born on May 30 1923, in Peabody, daughter of the late John and Laura (Sylvester) Santos. She was raised in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School and was a lifelong resident of the city. Mrs. Pramas began her working career at GTE Sylvania, leaving to raise her family. She returned to work in 1969 as a waitress at the Hilltop Steak House in Saugus where she remained until her retirement in 1981. Her entire life was devoted to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and while raising her family, she was active with the PTA at St. John’s and Bishop Fenwick and was a former auxiliary member of the American Legion Post 153 in Peabody. She was an avid ballroom dancer, enjoyed singing, cooking and also going to Foxwoods and Las Vegas. Mrs. Pramas is survived by her children and their spouses, Sharon E. and Al Larrabee, Richard A. and Corinne Pramas, Sandra L. and Larry McKinney all of Peabody and Susan H. and Charles Brown of Rochester NH; a brother and his wife, John and Marion Santos of ME; her grandchildren, Pamela and Tom Leahy, Sandra and Michael Zargaj, Paul Smith, Timothy Brown, Melissa Brown and Jillian Pramas; her 4 great grandchildren, Bridget and Mary Leahy and Benjamin and Julia Zargaj; a brother-in-law, Leonard “Skip” Whitmore of Newburyport and several nieces and nephews. Her sister Nancy Whitmore pre deceased her. Her funeral will be held Monday at 10 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral home, 82 Lynn St. (new location) Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Sunday 5 to 8 p.m. Burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Danvers.
