Obituary of Charles J. "Charlie" Caden

Charles J. “Charlie” Caden, 71, of Tampa FL, died on June 1, 2007 at the Kindred Hospital in Tampa. Mr. Caden was born on August 3, 1935 in Peabody, son of the late Edward “Chippy” and Valerie (Smith) Caden. He was raised and educated in Peabody. He resided in Peabody before moving to Tampa FL in 1981. Mr. Caden was employed for many years as a chef at Yokens Restaurant in Danvers. For the past 10 years, he would return to Peabody for the month September to help his brother-in-law Stephen Dartt at his Ferncroft Mobil Gas Station in Danvers during the Topsfield Fair. Mr. Caden is survived by his sister and her husband, Judith A. and Stephen Dartt of Peabody; a brother, Edward C. “Ned” Caden of Peabody; his fiancée, Lillian Gilroy of Tampa, his nieces and nephews, Edward and Nicole Caden of Gloucester, Laurie Caden of Danvers, Helen and John McNamara of SC, Richard and Tammy Brunet of TX and Kristen Brunet of Worcester and 4 grand nephews. His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St. (downtown location)Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Church St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Monday 5 to 8 p.m. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
