Marion P. (Di Cicco) Craig
PEABODYMarion P. (Di Cicco) Craig, 85, beloved wife of the late Edgar W. Craig, died Sunday evening at the Harborside Cedar Glen Nursing Home in Danvers.
Born in East Boston, she was the daughter of the late John and Marion (Volta) Di Cicco. She lived in Somerville in her youth where she attended schools. She graduated from Somerville High School, Class of 1939, then attended Burdette College in Boston.
Mrs. Craig enlisted in the United States Army with the Women’s Army Corps (WACs) during World War II.
Besides nurturing her young family, she also was employed with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Social Worker for 20 years.
Marion enjoyed travel, the adventure of gaming with slot machines, and especially spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was a Lifetime Member of the Somerville D.A.V.
She is survived by: three sons and two daughters-in-law, Kenneth & Constance Craig and Edgar Craig, Jr. both of Peabody, and John & Diana Craig of FL; seven grandchildren, Candace Craig, Kenneth Craig, Jr., Edgar Craig, III, Kevin Craig, Cristin Craig, Alicia Walker & her husband Mike, and Jacquelyn Craig; two great-grandchildren, Jacob Walker and Shawn Walker, and several nieces and nepews. She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by a brother Anthony Di Cicco and sister Anna Ferreer.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 10 A.M. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. John’s Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 P.M.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
