Obituary of Ronald A. Ripa

Ronald A. Ripa, 69, beloved husband of Sharon (Wacaser) Ripa of Peabody, died Monday at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center Hospital in Burlington following a long illness. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Dr. Anthony S. & Veronica (Konofsky) Ripa. He lived in East Boston in his youth, graduating from Boston Latin High School. He went on to attend business college, then enlisted in the Air National Guard where he served for 12 years. He lived in Peabody for the last 42 years. Mr. Ripa worked as an Agent with Trans World Airlines (TWA) for 41 years at Logan Airport in Boston before retiring six years ago. Ron enjoyed his variety of “wheels.” He continued operating his 1959 Chevy Corvette, an old-time Ford V-8 Super Coupe, and Harley-Davidson Motorcycle. He participated in many North Shore Road Rallies, and was also a member of the Danvers Fish & Game Club, enjoyed the benefits as an airline employee travelling throughout the country, especially Chicago, Arizona, Las Vegas, California. He enjoyed the simplicity of family and friendly gatherings. He is survived by: his wife, Sharon (Wacaser) Ripa of Peabody, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage; one daughter & her companion, Rhonda Ripa & Brian Wixted of Peabody; two sisters, Helen Vacirca of Salem and Lucille & Joseph Rindone of Reading, and several nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held on Friday at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 P.M. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
