Dear Regina and cousins,

Mary and I send our sincere condolences to you on this very sad occasion.
"Uncle Ralph" was always very special to me. As a youngster growing up in Malden, I remember him as the very Cool uncle. He always had the coolest car, coolest friends, did exciting things like scuba diving and flying model planes, he also wore the nicest clothes and had the best looking girlfriend, (Regina, of course). He always took time to do things with us as kids. I remember going many places with him. I remember him best as he appeared on the cover of Bay Stater magazine showing a bunch of grammar school kids the secret workings of a telephone truck. I actually ran across that cover picture several years ago somewhere out in "Internet Land"
I also remember his very cool 1958 Oldsmobile convertible. It would be a very cool car even today if you could find one. He actually gave me that car as my very first car. I am sure you can find a picture of it somewhere in the family archives. As a 16 year old new driver that car kept me very safe because of it's large mass and kept me near home because of the huge amount of gas it used. I actually had to cover the top with rubber cement and a big square of canvass to keep the rain out. It made me the hit of my young friends at the time.
Mary and I are glad that Ralph is finally at peace but there is no way to fill the hole that his passing leaves.
Sincere condolences,

Paul and Mary LaVasseur
