Obituary of Lucille (Dube) Murphy

Lucille (Dube) Murphy, 84, of Peabody and formerly of Salem, died peacefully Thursday morning at the Twin Oaks Nursing Home in Danvers following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Walter Murphy. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Pierre and Roseann (Tremblay) Dube. While living in Salem, she was raised by the Meaney Family. She attended Salem Public Schools and was a graduate of Salem High School, class of 1942. She has lived in Peabody for the past 60 years. She was devoted to her family and friends and was considered to be a mother to all who knew and loved her. She also was a professional knitter. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Nancy Murphy of Millbrook, NY, a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and John Deveney of Topsfield, two brothers, Paul Dube of Peabody and Norman Dube of El Cajon, Ca, a sister, Jeanne Rennick of Peabody, and is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Brian and his wife Beth Deveney, Erin Deveney, and Ryan, Sarah, Matthew, and Caitlin Murphy. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 8:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM in St. John’s Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, Ma 02472.
