Obituary of K. Lorraine (Powers) Jarvis

K. Lorraine (Powers) Jarvis, 84, of Peabody died Wednesday evening at the Renaissance Gardens in Peabody after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Raymond E. Jarvis. She was born in Peabody, MA on July 31, 1922 the daughter of the late Dr. James H. and Marion E. (Very) Powers D.M.D. and was a graduate of Peabody High School and Salem Commercial School. She had been an auditor in the Accounting Department of Sears Roebuck and Company at the Salem store and later at the North Shore Shopping Center, Peabody for over 30 years prior to her retirement. Lorraine was an avid reader and enjoyed the outdoors and traveling to Lake Ossipee in NH and being with her family. She is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Bertram Quintal of Peabody, a sister-in-law, Phyllis Powers of Peabody her nieces and nephews, Brian and his wife Diane Quintal, Gary and his wife Kim Quintal, Janice and her husband Kenneth Mac Kenzie and Beth Powers all of Peabody, Deborah Powers of Florida and Susan Gordon of Lynn, and several grand nieces and grand nephews. She was the sister of the late James Powers. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her funeral will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM from the Funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’s Church, Peabody at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lynn.
