I’m sorry to say but my husband‘s memory is not too Happy. Reverend Martin violated my husband’s innocence and that will forever haunt him till the day he dies. Rest in “peace”, Mr. Walsh.

It is with great sadness and heavy heart I send my sincere sympathy to the Walsh family and friends. As a child from Danvers, I first met Marty in the summer on 1972 when he was an Acolyte assigned to St Mary’s of the Annunciation. We fast became friends and shared many happy times He was inspirational and a role model during my teens and young adult life. My time in the USAF for the past 28 years distanced us physically, but he was always close in my heart. Fr. Marty’s infectious smile and wicked laugh brought joy and hope to the many people he has touched over the years. You will be missed.

Marty, when you were at home, you were just "one of us" and that's how I liked you best. Teasing each other and caring for one another is what we do best. I hope you continue to keep an eye on us from above, and say hi to Sharon and everyone for us. Love you.
Mary

Fr. Walsh was a friend, and a talented preacher. I was always happy when he said Mass at Sacred Hearts Church, as his sermons were real and meaningful.

His soul is at peace with the God to whom he committed his life.

Father Martin when I last saw you I wished you a safe journey. You were a joy to care for. I was priviledged to be one of your nurses. You were a man who was fully human, fully alive, gentle and spoke what felt very honestly with me. I will never forget you or your very special and loving family. Your family, close friends and all those you served were fortunate indeed to have you in their lives. Thank you for touching my life.

Laura RN

Father Marty will be missed. A friend of mine from college is from Malden, and attended Malden Catholic, where Fr Marty attended. He had no idea we were related, or that I even knew him. He praised Fr Marty for all that he did at the school, and for him, and his friends. When I told him about our relation, and how I already knew of him - he was more enamored with Fr. Marty, and all of his qualities and attributes.

Mt friend, Marko Duffy, and I, will hope that Fr. Marty was welcomed on the other side, by all those that loved him, and by all that appreciated the good that he did here on this earth.
