Obituary of Nicholas J. Kokoras

Nicholas J. Kokoras, 51, of West Peabody beloved husband of Sharon (Finn) Kokoras, died unexpectedly Thursday morning at the Salem Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late John N. and Chrisanthe (Paraskevopoulos) Kokoras. He was a lifelong resident of the City of Peabody and attended Peabody schools. He graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1969, and then graduated from Tufts University, class of 1973, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked with his father in the family machine shop, and renamed it KM Engineering in Lynn, which he owned and operated for many years. He was also affiliated with Century 21 North Shore. Mr. Kokoras shared his talents by tutoring in math throughout the North Shore for 15 years. He was a creative person who enjoyed helping people solve problems, especially in his work. He is survived by: his wife, Sharon (Finn) Kokoras of Peabody, with whom he shared 26 years of marriage; two sons, Jonathan N. Kokoras and Christopher N. Kokoras, both of Peabody; one sister and brother-in-law, Theodora & Charles Christopoulos of Peabody; one nephew, Christos Christopoulos; his loving step-mother, Elizabeth (O’ Keefe) Kokoras of Middleton and her children. His funeral will be held on Monday at 9 AM from the Conway facility at 12 Chestnut St , Peabody of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, followed by a Services at 10 AM in St. Vasilios Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
