Obituary of Serafim Eiro Medina

Serafim Eiro Medina PEABODY—Serafim Eiro Medina, 83, beloved husband of Helda (Cunha) Medina of Peabody, died Tuesday morning at North Shore Medical Center Salem Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Manuel Espinola Eiro, Jr. and Maria Luz Medina. He lived in Graciosa for 43 years, then emigrated to the United States, settling in Peabody where he lived for the last 40 years. Mr. Medina was employed as a Machine Operator with Bicknell & Fuller Company in Peabody until retiring 20 years ago. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, raising animals as he had a farm in Portugal, and gatherings of family and friends. He is survived by: his wife, Helda (Cunha) Medina of Peabody, with whom he shared years of marriage; two sons, Roy M. Medina and Joseph M. Medina, both of Peabody, and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:30 to 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn ST. location, Peabody. His funeral will be held on Friday at 9 AM from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
