Obituary of Mary E. Hynes

Mary E. (O’ Meara) Hynes, 90, died Wednesday at the Grovesner Park Nursing Home, Salem after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Thomas Hynes. She was born and raised in Peabody, the daughter of the Michael and Catherine (Healy) O’ Meara and was a graduate of St. John’ s Girls High School in the class of 1931. She was employed by the former Sawtell’ s Office Supply Company in Peabody prior to her retirement. She had been a member of the Golden Agers of Peabody, the Peabody Council On Aging, and the National Association of retired Federal employees. She is survived by a son-in-law, Robert Piraino of Peabody and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Mary Ellen Hynes Piraino and sister of the late James and Michael V. O’ Meara. Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann’ s Church, Lynn St., Peabody at 9:00 a.m. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery,Lynn.Those who prefer may make donations to the Mary Ellen Piraino educational Fund at Salem State College, 352 Lafayette St., Salem, Ma. 01970 in her memory or charity of your choice.
