Obituary of Ruth V. (Hulbert) James
Ruth V. (Hulbert) James, 87, wife of Irving H. James of Peabody, died on Saturday July 21, 2007 at the Pilgrim Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Peabody.
Mrs. James was born on March 20, 1920 in Salem daughter of the late Arthur and Clara (Scampton) Hulbert. She was raised in Salem and graduated from Salem High School. She then pursued her education and attended Salem Commercial School for 2 years. She moved to Peabody in 1941.
Prior to raising her son, Mrs. James was employed as a secretary for the Massachusetts Electric Light Company in Salem.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Dwight A. James of Georgetown; 2 sisters, Beatrice Keddy of Rye NH and Ethel LeBrun of Danvers; 2 grandsons and their wives, Darren and Courtney James of Valencia CA and Todd and Patricia James of Bridgewater; 5 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Hulbert of Peabody and several nieces and nephews. Her brother Edward Hulbert and sister Louise Parry pre deceased her.
As per her request a private family service will be held. Arrangements are by the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody.
