Obituary of Marion F. (Mitchell) Rideout

Marion F. (Mitchell) Rideout, 98, of Peabody, died Sunday morning, July 29, 2007 at the Rosewood Nursing Home after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Harrison Earl Rideout. She was born in Verona, Maine on July 19, 1909, the daughter of the late Alvin and Katherine (O’Brien) Mitchell and was raised there. She had resided in Saugus and Danvers before moving to Peabody. She had been employed at the former ALG Shoe Company in Wakefield for 15 years prior to her retirement. She had been a member of the Peabody Council on Aging and participated in their functions for many years. She is survived by a son, Earl H. Rideout of Wayland, MA, three grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Everett Mitchell and Beatrice Mitchell. A visitation will be held on Monday from 7:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway,Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., Peabody facility. Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 8:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’s Church, Peabody at 9:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
