Emmanuel “Mickey” Tsouvalas
PEABODYEmmanuel “Mickey” Tsouvalas, 72, beloved husband of Estelle (Kreticos) Tsouvalas of Peabody, died unexpectedly on Sunday afternoon at the North Shore Medical Center-Salem Hospital.
Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late John and Merope (Anastasiou) Tsouvalas. He graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1952, and was a lifelong resident of the city.
Mickey’s career started with General Electric in Lynn, where he attended the GE Apprentice Course. He left to focus on Engineering and Sales for Machine Shops and Foundry work. His affiliation was mostly with the Samuel Eastman Company in New Hampshire, where he was Vice-President of Sales, and in 1985 he started his own company, Omega Associates, which he operated until recent illness kept him from work.
He was active with several community organizations. He was a long-time member of St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in Peabody, was a member of the St. Val’s Men’s Club, a Past Master of the Jordan Lodge AF & AM of Peabody, and recently active with the Essex Lodge AF & AM of Salem, enjoyed boating on his cabin cruiser, was a member of the Salem Willows Yacht Club, and spending winter months in Naples, FL.
He is survived by: his wife, Estelle (Kreticos) Tsouvalas of Peabody, with whom he shared nearly 50 years of marriage with his Anniversary Aug. 25th; one son, Gregg Tsouvalas of Peabody; a daughter, Stephanie & Jack Nadeau of Groveland; four grandchildren, John and Jana Nadeau, Dylan and Luke Tsouvalas; one sister, Mary Tsouvalas of Peabody; two nieces, Meryl Tsouvalas of Chelmsford and Evadne Quartarone of NH, a nephew John Tsouvalas of Georgetown, and a Godson, Steven Gonsiorowski of Danvers. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Speros and Peter Tsouvalas.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn ST. location, Peabody, and a Masonic Tribute Service at 7 P.M. .
His funeral will begin gathering in the funeral home at 9 AM, followed by a Funeral Service at
10 AM in ST. Vasilios Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited.
Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
