Obituary of Dorthea (Davis) Dilisio
Dorthea “Dot” (Davis) Dilisio, 76, of Peabody and formerly of Lynn and Ipswich, died
Sunday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a nine month battle with cancer. She was the wife of the late Michael Dilisio.
She was born in Lynn, Ma on Feb. 11, 1931, the daughter of the late Felix and Astrid (Nelson) Davis and was a graduate of Lynn English High School and the Boston Modeling School of Design in 1952.
She was first employed at the former R.H. Stearns Store in Boston. She then became the resource librarian for the Center for Addictive Behavior on the North Shore for over 20 years prior to her retirement.
She had resided in Ipswich for many years before moving to Peabody 12 years ago.
Dot was a lifelong and very active member of the First Lutheran Church on Broadway in Lynn. She had been a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the altar guild and active in many church activities.
She also had been a Girl Scout leader and was involved in the celiac association teaching cooking classes and sharing recipes with other members. She was an avid mall worker and was very proud of her Scandinavian heritage.
She is survived by a daughter, Diane Dilisio of Amesbury, a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Jackie Davis of Florida, her two grandchildren, Amanda Medeiros of Amesbury and Christina and her husband David Le Brun and her great grandson Bradley Le Brun all of Raymond, NH, her two nephews and their families, Keith and his wife Kathy Davis and their children Richard and Katie Davis all of Dalton, Pa and Todd and his wife Michelle Davis and their children Tyler and Zack Davis all of Coopersburg, PA and many brother and sisters-in-laws, cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2to 4 & 6-8 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the First Lutheran Church, 280 Broadway, Lynn with Rev. Karen Safstrom officiating. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
