Obituary of Robert Brian Ercha
Robert Brian Ercha, 57, of Peabody, died Monday evening at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers surrounded by his family after a 2 year battle with melanoma cancer. He was born in Peabody on January 20, 1950, the son of Frances Helen (Orlowski) Ercha of Peabody and the late Bronislaus R. “Brownie” Ercha and had resided in Peabody most of his life.
He was a graduate of Peabody High School in 1967 where he was a member of the Track and Golf teams.
He entered the US Army in 1971 serving in the Vietnam war and was discharge from Ft. Hood, Texas in 1973.
He had been employed as an inspector and NDT analyst for thirty nine years at the General Electric Company in Lynn prior to his illness 2 years ago.
Robert was an avid golfer and was a member of the GE Golf League and also bowled in the GE Bowling League. He enjoyed baseball and cherished taking care of his two daughters.
Surviving him besides his mother of Peabody are two daughters, Kristen Marie Ercha of Malden and Kayleigh Elizabeth of South Hamilton, a brother and sister in law, Dennis and Robin Ercha of Peabody, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Janet and Ted Tatarczuk of Groveland and Elizabeth and Stephen Godzyk of Byfield and twelve nieces and nephews and many cousins.
