Obituary of Mary Ann (Bonfanti) Mallia
Mary Ann (Bonfanti) Mallia, 90, of Peabody, died early Tuesday morning at the Union Hospital in Lynn after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph H. Mallia.
She was born in Wakefield, Ma on June 14, 1917, the daughter of the late Leonardo and Angelina (Cavalieri) Bonfanti and had resided in Peabody most of her life.
She had operated along with her late husband Joe’s Market on Lynn St., South Peabody for 30 years prior to her retirement.
She enjoyed doing crafts and loved to cook her favorite recipes to serve to her family. She was also and avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.
She is survived by a brother, Joseph Bonfanti of Salem, MA, and a sister, Josephine De Francesco of Epping, NH, her godchildren, Mary Jane Rizzone of Peabody and Margaret De Francesco of Epping, NH, her extended family Mark and Lynne Kulakowski of Peabody and several other nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Ignatius, Corrado, Manuel and Leonardo Bonfanti and Corradina Fronti.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August, 24, 2007 at 11:00 AM in St. Ann’s Church, Lynn St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will
