Obituary of Carol Ann Dempsey

Carol Ann Dempsey PEABODY—Carol Ann Dempsey, 68, died peacefully Saturday evening at her home while in the presence of her loving family. Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Katherine (Toomey) Dempsey Mac Sweeney. She lived in Somerville for most of her life, and attended schools there. She graduated from St. Clements High School. Ms. Dempsey worked as an Office Administrator in the Burlington office for New England Telephone before all those mergers, and then retired. Although she had no children of her own, Carol enjoyed a nurturing role with her three generations of nieces and nephews. She enjoyed travel to many places including Ireland, playing Bingo, Elvis and other music, following Boston sports teams, and an occasional Field Trip to Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun among other places where how she enjoyed her adventure of life. She is survived by: a brother, Joseph P. Dempsey & his late wife Joan, of Fort Myers, FL; a sister, Theresa Devereaux & husband Edward of Peabody, and a brother-in-law Richard Boudrot of Falmouth, and preceded in death by a sister Patricia K. Boudrot. She leaves 16 nieces and nephews, & some of their spouses, Joseph & D’maris Dempsey of Green Brook New Jersey, Joanne Dempsey of Arlington, Patrick & Melissa Dempsey of Gloucester, John Dempsey of Somerville, and Maryellen & Frank Del Pizzo of Lehigh Acres, FL; Paul & Diana Devereaux of Peabody, Debra & Dana Pevear of Somersworth NH, Edward Devereaux of Melrose, Peter Devereaux of Londonderry, NH, Joseph & Lori Devereaux of Londonderry NH, Cathy Mason and late husband Frank of Tewksbury, Teresa Devereaux of Peabody; Suzanne Boudrot & Christopher Shea of Beverly, Michelle & Brian McCarthy of Beverly, Patricia Boudrot and Jacqueline Boudrot of Danvers; 27 Great-nieces & great-nephews, Connor, Brian, Madison and Cameron Dempsey, Nicholas and Giana Del Pizzo, Ryan, Tyler, Kristin, Jacqueline, Briana, Heather, and Steven, Tony, and Jeff Devereaux, Thomas, James and Samantha Pevear, Joseph and Jared Mason, James, Katherine and Caroline Shea, Megan, Lauren and John McCarthy, and Michael Patrick Boudrot., and two great-great nephews, Austin and Joshua Devereaux.. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM from the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. John’s Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in Wadsworth Cemetery, Danvers. Memorial donations may be made to the VNA Care Network Hospice, 5 Federal St., Danvers, MA 01923.
