Obituary of William Henry Murphy, Jr.

William H. Murphy, Jr., 79, died recently at the Beverly Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Swampscott, he was the son of the late William H. and Harriet (Carr) Murphy. He lived in Brighton for over 70 years. He attended Perkins Institute for the Blind. Mr. Murphy worked over 50 years in maintenance with Fidelity Investments in Boston. He was a devoted communicant at Our Lady of Presentation Church in Brighton. He is survived by two sisters, Harriet Noonan of Peabody and Eleanor Murphy of Sarasota, FL; one brother, Hubert Murphy of Ipswich, 13 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Daly of Hingham. His Funeral Ceremony will be held on Saturday at 11 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St location, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. Urn burial will take place in Spring at St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Lynn. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Perkins School for the Blind, Watertown, MA 02472.
