Joseph Connolly
PEABODYJoseph Connolly, beloved husband of Linda (Swanitz) Connolly of Peabody, died unexpectedly on Sunday evening at the North Shore Medical CenterSalem Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Daniel and Jane (Najechalski) Connolly. He lived in Salem in his youth, and graduated from Salem High School. He lived in Peabody for many years.
He worked for K.J. Quinn in Seabrook, NH as a Lab Technician for several years.
Joseph valued family, and demonstrated this by living as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family, and treasured that he was able to spend his last vacation with his family in Walt Disneyworld in May. He was an avid reader of Native American culture, a firm supporter of the Mass State Lottery, enjoyed the adventure of gaming and travel to Las Vegas and Mohegan Sun. He lived his life as a simple man with a gentle heart and good sense of humor, and be remembered as a selfless caregiver.
He will de dearly missed by friends, and family including: his wife, Linda (Swanitz) Connolly of Peabody; one daughter and son-in-law, Audra & Steven Williams of North Andover; two grandchildren, Hannah and Nate Williams of No. Andover; a brother, James Connolly of Rockport; four sisters, Ann & Frank Russell of Derry, NH, Jane & Steven Carlson of Oneida, NY, Mary Dixon of OK, and Patricia Sullivan of Lynn; brothers and sisters-in-law, William & Cynthia Russell of Raymond, NH and Richard & Rose Baetzel of Lynn, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death, besides his parents, by a brother Daniel Connolly.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody.
His funeral will be held, gathering at 9 AM from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Ann’s Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
Memorial donations may be made to the North Shore Cancer Center, 17 Centennial Dr., Peabody, MA 01960.
