Obituary of Charolette G. (Swann) Matusiak

Charolette G. Matusiak, 72, of Peabody, died early Monday afternoon at the Beverly Hospital following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert Matusiak. Born Brodhead, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd & Gladys (Schrader) Swann. She lived in Wisconsin for most of her youth before moving to California and has spent the last 50 years living in Peabody. She had worked for over 25 years for GTE Sylvania on Loring Ave Salem as a machine operator before retiring 10 years ago. She later worked for Anne & Hope at the jewelry counter for 7 years before that store was closed. She enjoyed gardening, was an avid bingo player and had bowled for several years in many women’ s leagues at Metro Bowl in Peabody. She is survived by her loving family, including her 2 sons, Albert J. Matusiak of Peabody and Kenneth Matusiak of Tewksbury; a daughter and son-in-law, Diane & Joseph Curley of Peabody; a brother, Roy Portman of Monroe, WI; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Lorraine Stauffacher of Stoughton, WI, and Ruth & Stanley Stocker of Monroe, WI; her good friend, Mary DiLuiso of Beverly; 6 grandchildren, Chris & Lyn Gravel, Jennifer Carrie, and Heather & Scott Matusiak; 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 8:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility (978) 531-0398, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’ s Church, Peabody at 9:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
