Obituary of Gloria M (Turmenne) Zapolski

Gloria M. (Turmenne) Zapolski, 60, of Lynn, died Friday evening at her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous 8 year battle against Breast Cancer. She was the devoted wife of Joseph Zapolski with whom she shared over 39 years of marriage. Born and raised in Lynn, she was the daughter of Theresa (LeBlanc) Turmenne of Peabody and the late Dona Turmenne. She was a graduate of St. Jean’s High School, class of 1965. After high school, she worked for General Electric at the River Works Plant as an Administrative Secretary for over 15 years. She then attended Nursing School and worked an additional 15 years as a LPN Nurse for various nursing homes in Saugus and Revere. She also was an aerobic instructor for the Richard Simmons Studio in Saugus. She enjoyed cooking and gardening, but most of all, she enjoyed taking care of her family, especially her mother. Besides her loving husband, she is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Michelle Turmenne of Peabody, a sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Krzysztof Czarnecki of Peabody, and is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was the sister of the late Donald Turmenne. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 8:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM in St. John’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
