Obituary of Carlos Alberto Carva

Carlos Alberto Carva, 50, of Peabody died unexpectedly on Sunday October 14, 2007 at the Essex Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Beverly. Carlos was born on October 21, 1956 in Angola, Africa son of Alberto and Maria (Emilia) Carva of Salem. He immigrated to the United States at age 4. He was raised and educated in Peabody and has been a resident of Peabody for 46 years. Carlos worked for 3 years for his father at the family Carva Paving Company until suffering a disabling swimming accident at a very early age. As his family expressed, he was a gentle soul with love for life and family and will be deeply missed. In addition to his parents of Salem, he is survived by his wife, Diane (Nickerson) Carva of Peabody; a son, Charles Carva of Saugus; a granddaughter, Heather Marie Carva; an aunt and her husband, Elizena and Celestino Portela of Portugal; 3 cousins and their spouses, Jack and Maria Lima of Middleton, Maria and John Mello of Boxford, Lisdalia and Joseph Silva of Peabody and many other aunts, uncles and cousins. His brother Antonio Abel Carva pre deceased him. His funeral will be held on Thursday October 18, 2007 at 9 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. (new location) Peabody followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 50 Walsh Ave., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Wednesday 5 to 8 p.m. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
