Alan P. Cwalina
PEABODYAlan P. Cwalina, 55, died Saturday evening at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston following a long illness.
Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Stefan P. and Stella (Kielbasa) Cwalina, and was a lifelong Peabody resident. He graduated from Peabody High School and Bentley College.
Mr. Cwalina was a Certified Public Accountant, and worked with Siemans/Nixdorf in Burlington before retiring with health issues.
A gifted musician, Alan played guitar in a number of bands. He may be remembered well for playing in Beetlejuice for gigs in the North Shore area. He will be remembered by family and friends for his love of the outdoors. He enjoyed travel and adventure, having trekked through Nepal along the Himilayan mountains, hiking and touring through Bryce Canyon, the Grand Canyon where he also enjoyed white water rafting, and frequent visits to the White Mountains of New Hampshire where he enjoyed staying in Bartlett. He enjoyed kayaking very much.
He will be dearly missed by friends and family, including: two brothers, Stephen Cwalina of North Reading and David Cwalina of Tiverton, RI; a sister, Cheryl Le Duc of Hamilton; six nieces & nephews, Joshua Porter, Stephen Porter, Eric Cwalina, Ray Cwalina, Stephanie Cwalina, and Keith Le Duc; a great-niece and great-nephew, Kate and Abraham Porter, and several cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody.
His funeral will be held on Thursday at 8 AM from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 AM in St. John’s Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
