Obituary of Shueh-Shu Wen Hsia (Shaw)

Shueh-Shu Wen Hsia (Shaw), also known as “Shu Shaw” 90, of Peabody and formerly of Danvers, died Thursday afternoon at the Lahey Clinic in Peabody following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of Tao-Ching Hsia (Shaw) with whom she shared over 64 years of marriage. She was born in Sichuan, China and lived there in Nanking, Shanghai, and Hong Konge for most of her adult life. She later lived in New York, and more recently lived in Danvers and Peabody. While living in China, she was one of the first female judges; she worked as a Judge in China’s Civil Court System. She is survived by her husband, Tao-Ching Hsia (Shaw) a son, James Hsia of Weston and a daughter, Julia Hsia of Andover, four grandchildren, Diana Vining, and Max, Vanessa, and Katie Shaw, a brother, Shu-Ling Wen of China, two sisters, Shu-Fang Wen and Shu-Chiang Wen, all of China. Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the Brooksby Village Chapel, 300 Brooksby Village Drive in Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. A private family burial will take place later that afternoon in Weston. If families and friends wish to send flowers, they can send them to the Brooksby Village Chapel. If not, memorial donations can be made in her name to the Mass Buddhist Association (MBA) 319 Lowell St., Lexington, MA 02420.
