Obituary of Daniel M. "Uncle Danny" Gass

Daniel M. “Uncle Danny” Gass, 48, husband of Christine T. Morfis of Salem died unexpectedly on Saturday October 27, 2007 at Salem Hospital after being stricken at his home. Danny was born on June 30, 1959 in Beverly son of Thomas E. Gass of Seffner FL and Marilyn (Spinazzola)Gilmoure of Newmarket NH. He was raised in Peabody and graduated from Peabody Vocational High School Class of 1978. He then pursued his education in Boston for computer programming and drafting. He has been a resident of Salem for 21 years. Danny began his working career as a Grade A machinist and was employed in Peabody for many years. For the past 10 years he has been employed as a mechanical designer at American Science & Engineering Company in Billerica. He was very active as a volunteer at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church Sunday School in Peabody, also enjoyed camping, canoeing and was an overall outdoorsman. His first love was his family who described Danny as having an infectious smile that said it all and one who loved telling stories. He will be greatly missed by family members and his friends/coworkers. In addition to his wife and parents; he is survived by a son, James S. Morfis-Gass of Salem; a brother and his wife, Thomas C. and Sandra Gass; a half brother, Joseph Gass of FL; his stepmother, Linda Gass of Seffner FL; his stepfather, Skip Gilmoure of Newmarket NH; his mother-in-law, Ruth Morfis of Peabody; 3 aunts, Marie Smith, Beth Ann Brillant both of Beverly and Donna Starr of Bradford NH; his sister and brothers-in-law, Jayna and Richard Lowe of Beverly and Stephen Morfis of Peabody; his nephews and nieces, Thomas Gass of Salem, Christopher Gass, Connor Lowe, Hannah Lowe and Arianna Lowe all of Beverly and many cousins. His funeral will be held on Friday November 2, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. (new location) Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Thursday 4 to 8 p.m. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church Sunday School, 7 Paleologos St., Peabody.
