Obituary of John W. Curcio

John William Curcio, 48, of Haverhill, MA. died unexpectedly early Sunday morning after being rushed to the Union Hospital in Lynn. He was born in Medford on January 24, 1959, the son of Hannah (Miranda) Curcio and the late John Curcio Jr. and had resided in Peabody and later in Revere before moving to Haverhill. He had been a firefighter with the Peabody Fire Department for 22 years prior to disability a year ago. He was a graduate of Peabody High School in 1978 and had attended Salem State College. John was a very talented carpenter and also received his real estate license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He had been a vice president of the IAFF Local 925 Peabody Firefighters Union for many years. He enjoyed skiing and camping and was a devoted father to his daughter. He was the former husband of Lisa (Story) Curcio of Haverhill. He is survived by his mother of Haverhill, a daughter, Kara Leigh Curcio of Havherhill, a brother, Scott Curcio of Haverhill, his five sisters, Jennifer Stern of Groveland, Carol Ann Le Beouf of Wyoming, Janet Curcio of Waltham, Joyce Curcio of Georgetown and Christine Burgess of Merrimack, MA and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. His funeral will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’s Church, Peabody at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
