Obituary of David E. Quinlan

David E. Quinlan, 37, of Peabody, died late Monday evening at the Salem Hospital following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Doreen (Colosi) Quinlan with whom he shared over 17 years of marriage. Born in Salem, he was the son of John Quinlan of Saugus and Joan (Miaskiewicz) Quinlan of Salem. He had resided in Salem for most of his youth before moving to Peabody 24 years ago. He had attended Peabody Public Schools and was a graduate of Peabody Veterans Memorial High School, Class of 1983. After High School he enlisted with the United States Air Force and was stationed in Hawaii for six years. He later worked for FEMA for two years and then worked for the Danvers Post Office as a Postman for six years and has spent the last couple of years working as a communications specialist for FEMA based in Maynard. He was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed playing baseball, football, golf, and running. He was the quarterback for Peabody High in his Junior and Senior year. He also was participated in several triathlons while stationed in Hawaii and he also had run in the Boston Marathon for 6 years with his best time of 2 hours and 46 minutes. Besides his loving wife he is survived by his two sons, twins Michael and Matthew Quinlan of Peabody; his father, John and his wife Barbara Quinlan of Saugus, his mother, Joan (Miaskiewicz) Quinlan of Salem; a brother, Michael Quinlan of Jamaica Plain; his maternal grandmother, Lucille Miaskiewicz of Salem, a brother-in-law, Philip Colosi of Middleton; a mother-in-law, Judy Colosi of Salem; a father-in-law, Richard Colosi of Peabody, and several aunts and uncles. His funeral service will be held on Friday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Adelaide’ s Church, West Peabody at 10:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited.. Visitation on Thursday from 5-8 PM. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Expressions of Sympathy can be sent to MGH Brain Tumor Center, Cox 315 MGH, Boston, Ma. 02114 in his memory.
