PEABODYLorraine M. (Ouellette) Lowry, 71, beloved wife of Bill Lowry of Peabody, died peacefully on Tuesday afternoon at her home with her family by her side.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Marie (Chouinard) Ouellette. She lived there in her youth and attended Salem schools. She graduated from ST. Mary’s High School in Lynn.
Mrs. Lowry was mostly a homemaker nurturing her family, and worked for 10 years as a Keypunch Operator with a local Sales office.
Lorraine enjoyed cooking, baking, and entertaining at her home. She loved travel and spending the winter months in Tarpon Springs, FL, being outside in her vegetable garden, dancing, going for long drives, gathering at the beach in FL or in Gloucester, and her greatest pleasure was home gatherings with her grandchildren and family.
She is survived by: her husband, J. “Bill” Lowry of Peabody, with whom she shared 48 years of marriage; one son, John Lowry of Salem, NH; three daughters, Diane & Wayn Robinson of Salisbury, Sandra & Ronny Lanphear of Rowley, and Robin Lowry of Palm Harbor, FL; five grandchildren, Cameron and Colin Robinson, Curtis, Shannon and Janelle Lanphaer; one brother, Ronald Ouellette of Hudson, MA; a special cousin, Pauline Roy of Thousand Palms, CA, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Ouellette.
A visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 6 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody.
Her funeral will be held from the funeral home at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are invited.
Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923, or to a Lung Cancer Organization.
