Obituary of Richard Provencher

Richard Provencher, 69, of Lowell and formerly of Peabody, died unexpectedly Sunday evening at his home. Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Arthur and Mary (Hayes) Provencher. He was raised and educated in Peabody and attended Peabody Public Schools and was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1952. He was a veteran of the Korean War who served with the United States Marines. He later worked for several manufacturing companies in both Lowell and Peabody before retiring. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching all of Boston’ s professional sports teams, especially the Red Sox and Patriots. He also enjoyed spending time with his niece, nephew, and grand nephews. He is survived by a niece, Maryellen O’ Donnell of Peabody, a nephew, Steven O’ Donnell and his wife Barbara of Brooksville, Fla., two grand nephews, Matthew and Patrick O’ Donnell both of Peabody, a brother-in-law, Arthur O’ Donnell of Brooksville, Fla., his longtime companion of 40 years, Rita Ostrander of Lowell, and his two close friends, Nancy Mooney and Bob Howard, both of Lowell. He was the brother of the late Arthur and Ralph Provencher and Grace O’ Donnell. His funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in St. John’ s Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Thursday from 5 until 8 PM. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem
