Obituary of George H. McAuley, Jr.
George H. McAuley, Jr. 47, of North Reading and formerly of Peabody, died Tuesday evening at his home following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Beth (Alexuk) McAuley with whom he shared over 25 years of marriage.
Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late George H. McAuley, Sr., and Leona (Bedard) McAuley. He was raised and educated in Peabody, attended Peabody Public Schools and has been living in North Reading for the past 17 years.
He was a machinist who owned his own shop, McAuley Machinist in North Reading for the past 2 ½ years. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by a son and daughter, Andrew and Junelle McAuley, both of North Reading; two brothers and a sister-in-law, John E. and Yvonne McAuley of Middleton, and John D. and his companion, Deb Pagano, both of Lynn; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Gloria and Bruce Gordon of Swampscott, Cynthia and Kevin Watkins of Peabody, and Christine and Kenneth Dudley of Salem, NH, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
His Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church in Peabody, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Visitation on Thursday from 4 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., location. Burial in Oakdale Cemetery, Middleton.
