Obituary of Stasia (Drillis) Antonio

Stasia (Drillis) “Yia Yia” Antonio, 87, of Peabody, died early Thursday morning at the Harborside Twin Oaks Nursing Home in Danvers. She was the wife of the late Nicholas Antonio. She was born in New Bedford, MA on January 12, 1920, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Athena (Kalova) Drillis and had resided in Peabody most of her life. She had been employed at the former Farnsworth Nursing Home in Peabody for 15 years and later at the Rosewood Nursing Home in West Peabody for 5 years prior to her retirement. Her greatest enjoyment was taking care of and being with her family. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Beth Ellen Antonio of Peabody, a daughter, Esther MacLeod of Phenix, Alabama, her four grandchildren, Jessica, Rebecca and Daniel Antonio all of Peabody and Stacy and her husband Robert La Montagne and her great grandchild, Alexis La Montagne all of Phenix, Alabama and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Daniel and Peter Drillis and Sophie Kessaris. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 until 12 Noon at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn ST., Peabody facility followed by Services at 12 Noon at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Roger Trask Day Care Center, 79 Central St., Peabody, MA 01960 in her memory.
