Obituary of Ruth M. (Healey) Savy

Ruth Marie (Healey) Savy, 76, of South Peabody, died Thursday evening at the Beth Isreal Hospital in Boston following a brief illness. She was the wife of Jacob “Jack” Savy with whom she shared 55 years of marriage. She was born in Lynn on July 9, 1931, the daughter of the late George F. and Ruth (Murphy) Healey and was a graduate of St. Mary’s Girls High School in Lynn. She had been a resident of Peabody for the past 50 years. She was employed as a secretary at the General Electric Company in Lynn. Later she became a real estate agent for tweney years and during that time operated the J & R. Realty Company in Peabody for 8 years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed playing cards and won many Texas hold’em card tournaments in the North Shore area. She also loved to dance and performed in many shows for the Peabody Council on Aging. She had been a member of the Girls Marching Band there and performed at the International Festivals. Ruth had a knack for numbers and liked playing the Stock Market. She was very proud of her Irish heritage and loved to work in her garden. Surviving her besides her husband are her three children, Robert Savy, Patricia A. Chausse and Laurie J. Riccardi all of Peabody, her four grandchildren, Jaclynn Savy, Thomas Chausse, Daniel Riccardi and Jacob J. Savy II all of Peabody, a great grandchild, Dylan Seaver of Peabody, two brothers, William Healey of Woburn and Charles Healey of Lynn, two sisters, Theresa Haley of Malden, MA and Marilyn Goodwin of Los Vegas, Nevada and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jean Facciolo, Lorraine Healey, Donna Sczawinski and Lois Ciruso. A Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 Until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, So. Peabody at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
