Isabel M. (Shaw) Stewart
PEABODYIsabel M. (Shaw) Stewart, 90, beloved wife of the late Milton Stewart with whom she shared 47 years together, died suddenly on Sunday afternoon December 2, 2007.
Born in De Sable, Prince Edward Island Canada on July 25, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Neil MacKinnon and Sarah (MacNevin) Shaw. The family moved to the United States in 1923 and settled in Peabody. She lived in Peabody and Salem most of her life.
Mrs. Stewart worked with Bomar which became Varian Company in Beverly for several years before retiring 33 years ago.
Isabel was a loved and respected member of the extended Stewart and Shaw family and enjoyed cooking, sewing, and spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed the annual Shaw Family Re-Unions in North Conway, NH and a recent trip to her native hometown in Prince Edward Island. She was a longtime communicant of South Congregational Church in Peabody where she was active with the Sewing Circle and numerous activities.
She will be dearly missed by friends and family who cherished her nurturing manner, including: a daughter, Sandra Serven of Beverly; four grandchildren, Robyn (Serven) & David Dahl of Midlothian, VA, Beth (Serven) & Ed Whittier of Lynn, Jessica Stewart of Orlando, FL, and Scott Stewart of Boston; four great-grandchildren, Ryan Whittier, Sydney Dahl, Erik Whittier, and Jeannette Dahl, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death, besides her husband, by a son Bruce Stewart; she was the last living with 10 brothers and sisters, Sarah Quint, Irene Coughlin, Ollie Blake, Frank Shaw, Vera MacGregor, Donald Shaw, Helen Williams, Evelyn Kriskow, Neil Shaw, and John Shaw.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 10 AM in the South Congregational Church, Prospect St. Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
