Obituary of Alice F. (Richardson) Santos

Alice F. (Richardson) Santos, 85, of Peabody, died unexpectedly Monday morning at the Lahey Clinic in Peabody. She was the devoted wife of Belmiro J. Santos with whom she shared over 65 years of marriage. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Ellis and Agnes (Murphy) Richardson. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody, attended Peabody Schools and was a graduate of Peabody High School. Prior to her retirement, she worked for over 30 years on the factory line at Clayman’ s in Salem. After her retirement, she volunteered at the Peter A. Torigian Community Life Center in Peabody for the past 20 years. In additional to her volunteer work, she also enjoyed playing bingo, sewing and cooking and was a member of the silver social club which met every month at St. Adelaide’ s Church in Peabody. Besides her loving husband, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carole Ann and Ward Schmidt of Sebring, Fla., two grandchildren, Lorene Machado of Danvers and Robert Machado of Las Vegas, NV; two great grandchildren, Diana and Robert Machado, Jr. She was the sister of the late Roger Richardson. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday at 8:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chesnut St., Peabody facility, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’ s Church, Peabody at 9:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
