Obituary of Helen G. (Hockenhull) Landry

Helen G. (Hockenhull) Landry, 79 years, of Danvers, died at the Radius Healthcare Center in Danvers after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Gerard M. Landry, Sr. Mrs. Landry was born on October 29, 1925 daughter of the late Walter and Etta (Sabean) Hockenhull. She was raised in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School class of 1942. She resided in Peabody and Salem before moving to Danvers in 1960. Mrs. Landry was employed for many years as a ticket agent / courier at the former Travel World in Danvers. Her entire life centered on her family and her grandchildren. Mrs. Landry and her many friends enjoyed bowling on Wednesdays at the Sunnyside Bowladrome in Danvers and playing cards. As hobbies she enjoyed traveling, knitting, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles and beano. She is survived by 2 daughters and their husbands, Nancy J. and David Lynch and Joanne M. and Thomas Myers all of Danvers; 2 sons and their wives, Gerard M. Jr. and Pamela Landry of Beverly and John W. and Nicole Landry of Danvers; a sister Dorothy Hockenhull of Peabody; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Ronald Hockenhull, Edna Reily and Ruth Hemeon. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., location Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may pay their respects Tuesday from 10 - 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Alzheirmer’ s Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
