Obituary of Laura C. (Nazzaro) Saia
Laura C. (Nazzaro) Saia, of Peabody and formerly of Revere, died late Sunday evening at the Kindred Hospital in Peabody follow a brief illness. She was the devoted wife Benjamin Saia with whom she shared over 58 years of marriage.
Born in Revere, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Gertrude (Coppola) Nazzaro. She was raised and educated in Revere, attended Revere Public Schools and has been living in Peabody for the past 44 years.
She was a dedicated and devoted mother who enjoyed raising her children.
She was a member of The Ladies Moose Club in Malden, enjoyed doing ceramics, aerobics and dancing at the Wonderland Ball Room in Revere. She also later enjoyed Belly dancing.
Besides her loving husband, she is survived by a son, Benjamin Saia Jr., of Stratham, NH; a daughter and son-in-law, Trudy and John Ivas of Tewksbury; two sisters, Margaret Rizzo and Gertrude Scenna, both of Revere; three grandchildren, Brian Hoadley and his wife Christina, Jennifer and John Ivas as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Michael Nazzaro, Jr., and Nellie Connery.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by Services at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Assumption Church, Lynnfield, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Wednesday from 4 until 8 PM Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
