Obituary of Jonathan P. Champigny

PEABODY—Jonathan P. Champigny, 25, beloved son of James and Elyse (Valles) Champigny, died unexpectedly at his home on Monday. Born in Salem, he was a lifelong resident of Peabody. He attended St. Mary’s School in Danvers and St. John’s School in Peabody, then graduated from St. John’s Prep in Danvers, Class of 2001. Mr. Champigny was self-employed as a Painter and General Contractor throughout the North Shore. Jonathan enjoyed many sports, as he played baseball and basketball for various youth leagues, was on the St. John’s Prep Basketball Team. He enjoyed music of all kinds, and will be remembered as a good friend who valued and respected family and friends. He will be dearly missed by many, including his family: his parents, James and Elyse (Valles) Champigny of Peabody; a sister and brother-in-law, Vanessa & Kevin McGunnigle of Boston; a grandmother, Veneta Valles-Gaieski of Peabody; his uncles and aunts, Peter & Pamela Valles, Rick Valles, and Paul & Gail Champigny all of Peabody, Brian & Debbie Champigny of Merrimack, NH, and Garry & Barbara Champigny of OR; a special friend, Alana Cristo of Danvers, and several cousins and extended family and friends. A visitation will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. location, Peabody. His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 11 AM in St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
